Who is this for?
Anyone who would like to raise their awareness of how any conscious and unconscious biases may be acting as a barrier to create an inclusive workplace and will identify the techniques to challenge these in themselves and others
Course content
The latest research from McKinsey consultancy reaffirms that the business case for gender, ethnic and cultural diversity in corporate leadership is stronger now than ever. Encompassing 15 countries and more than 1,000 large companies, its findings show that companies in the top quartile for ethnic and gender diversity are more likely to have financial returns higher than their national industry medians by 36% and 25% respectively.
However, diversity by itself isn’t enough – team members are having to be inclusive by creating an environment in which everyone has access to the same opportunities to develop, participate and use their voice to effect change, irrespective of their background. This means tackling the unconscious biases that stand in the way. In the current global pandemic, organisations whose team members welcome diverse talents and include multiple perspectives are likely to emerge stronger by being able to make better and bolder decisions – a critical capability in this crisis.
This workshop will help participants raise their awareness of how any conscious and unconscious biases may be acting as a barrier to create an inclusive workplace and will provide them with the techniques to challenge these in themselves and others. Via real-world discussions and individual self-assessment exercises and activities, the programme will equip participants with the confidence, belief, knowledge, and practical skills to function as inclusive team members who leverage diversity and inclusion as a strategic driver for the continual success of their organisation.
