Overview
Assertiveness training is essential in executive coaching as it empowers leaders to communicate their thoughts, needs, and boundaries clearly and confidently. Assertiveness training focuses on building self-assurance and confidence, enabling executives to express their opinions without resorting to aggression or diminishing their authority through passivity.
Being assertive helps executives set realistic expectations, resolve conflicts effectively, and create an environment of mutual respect and openness, which is critical for team performance and organisational success.
Unlike assertiveness, passive-aggressive behaviour is indirect and often stems from suppressed frustration or resentment. It manifests through avoidance, sarcasm, or subtle undermining rather than open communication. These behaviours can lead to misunderstandings, erode trust, and create a toxic work atmosphere.
Assertiveness training distinguishes itself by promoting directness and transparency, allowing executives to voice their concerns constructively. It helps leaders navigate challenging conversations with empathy and professionalism, fostering a healthier, more productive workplace dynamic.
Our Cybèle Assertiveness Training programme will enable delegates at all levels to understand and develop beliefs, thoughts and behaviours that are assertive, combined with a number of practical tools that will leave them equipped to assertively handle whatever comes their way.
