This workshop is designed to help you discover the skills and approach to be a great facilitator. Design the agenda, the process and see how skillfully you can get the best outcome for an engaged group. This is a key skill for an empowered business.
Overview
The use of facilitation is an increasingly important part of business life, since a collaborative approach to working is widely recognised as the most effective way to make decisions, capture requirements, plan projects and gain consensus.
A facilitator’s role is to set the purpose, communicate clearly and assertively, listen actively, motivate appropriately, ask clear questions, manage conflicts, build trust & loyalty and all whilst managing the process and delivering an outcome.
This workshop defines and examines practical ways to develop the skills of the facilitator.
Objectives
• Gain an understanding and identify behaviour patterns that influence interaction in group situations
• Explore the implications and impact of individual styles
• Develop skills to facilitate meetings, which will enable you to prepare and structure meaningful sessions, ensure effective participation from all, maximise input from the group, maintain control, handle difficult situations etc.
• Consider facilitation; what is facilitation; what are the tools and techniques?
• Select tools and techniques to create ‘different’ experiences
• Implement facilitation techniques
